SCOUT ACTIVE SUPPORT
Scout Active Support is the new name for The Scouting Fellowship. Active Support is set up to be a support unit available to Scout groups in their local area.
Units are made up of current leaders, ex-leaders, helpers and non-scouting people. It is not a requirement to be a leader to join the Unit but leaders are not
turned away either.
The local unit to Shiregreen is Don District Scout Active Support Unit. They support scouting in the local area by helping at district events for the
different sections. They may be running a base at 'Crewboree' or 'Winter Wonderland'; making refreshments at a Beaver Carol Service, for an AGM or the supper after the
Scout Beckford Peg competition. Or maybe helping at a Troop, Pack or Colony meeting when extra hands are wanted.
They could organise a base or games for a group fundraising event or a district competition, teach traditional scouting skills when young leaders might not have
the experience or help run a sports day / badge gaining evening. They may help at the Swimming Galas for both Scouts and Cubs, by providing judges, recorders and starters.
Don District Active Support unit, do exactly that - Support Scouting.
